The ICMA Local Government Sustainability Policies and Programs survey of 2010 is a major effort to examine how local elected officials and administrators have acted so far to address the sustainability challenge. It was developed by the Center for Urban Innovation at ASU in cooperation with the Alliance for Innovation and the Sustainable Cities Network, a multijurisdictional partnership in Arizona. Distribution of the survey was conducted through a collaboration of ICMA, ASU Global Institute on Sustainability, and the Sustainable Cities Network. The survey measures how and to what extent local governments are acting to promote sustainability. A summary examines the variation found in the performance of local governments.
A joint report with the International City/County Management Association was prepared for the IBM Center for the Business of Government.
