academic network
Scholars involved in local government research are engaged as participating members in the Alliance through the Academic Network. The Academic Network members share their research with each other local governments. They will help develop an urban research agenda to expand the scope of research related to innovation and the forces shaping change in local government. The research agenda will guide Alliance research activities and inform the survey research program of ICMA. Individual scholars will also be able to use the research agenda for guidance in developing their own lines of research.
The Academic Network brings academic research to practitioners in a more timely and usable way, facilitates feedback from practitioners to scholars, and keeps academic researchers informed about the activities of the Alliance. Members of the Academic Network have access to the Alliance Knowledge Center and the academic network roster and databases. The members will receive the Alliance Newsletter and regular updates about new publications, presentations, and research opportunities. They will have the opportunity to exchange information about their publications and research activities and identify others who share their research interests.
